We’ve all met someone who likes to study a lot. While most of us can’t wait to get out of engineering school, there are few people who choose to stay in it and continue their education. After getting their degrees as undergraduates, they pursue different master’s programs. They would advance their knowledge on specific fields with a doctorate degree. But can you imagine someone getting more than a hundred academic degrees to one’s credit?
Wow!
If you think that’s impossible, think again! This 53-year-old Indian professor has around 145 degrees under his name! Professor VN Parthiban is a Chennai professor and in a span of 30 years, he was able to obtain a crazy amount of academic degrees.
How is that even possible?
In an interview with Sunday Indian, he said, “I really enjoy studying. It’s not difficult at all. I have been continuously in the process of preparing for exams and applying for new degrees or diploma courses.”
“I am from a very ordinary family in north Madras. I struggled hard to finish my first college degree and got a job in the Judiciary department. Then I started to apply wherever they did not require a transfer certificate for registration, so that I could study different courses at the same time.”
He added that “In the last thirty years, I have been continuously in the process of preparing for exams and applying for new degrees or diploma courses. All my Sundays, I have some exam or research paper to write.”
If some of you think he’s a genius, he said he isn’t. He just really loves what he’s doing. He shared that he struggled and even failed at one point in his college life. He shared, “I struggled hard to finish my first college degree and got a job in the judiciary department.”
With so many degrees he enrolled in, he experienced failing in an exam because he studied for the wrong paper. Nonetheless, we have to give him credit for the hard work and diligence he’s shown in getting all those degrees. Did you know that he is still planning to join more courses? Amazing, right?
