Nikola Tesla’s Incredible Predictions For Our World That Came True

Could these predictions prove that Tesla’s genius was way too early for his time?

In this age and time, technology has become a part of our lives and is become an indispensable part of it. In addition to this, technology is advancing at an exponential rate. These are all thanks to hundreds and thousands of tech heroes that have paved the way for countless innovations that has made our technological world the way it is now.

One of the world’s (and engineers’) favorite tech heroes is no other than (you’ve guessed it) Serbian Inventor Nikola Tesla (1856-1943). This amazing man held nearly 300 patents and is responsible for the breakthrough of alternating current–which everyone is enjoying the use of today. He is idolized by many in the tech world for his passion and love for science and engineering. Another thing many are amazed by this person is because of his tech predictions in his time that have come true in our present day.

What did Tesla predict that has come true? We have a list for you.

#1 The Smartphone

Tesla pictured a wireless device that would involve the use of video and telephone technology that would work over a network that sounds very similar to the internet.

Here is how Tesla from 1926 described it.
“When wireless is perfectly applied the whole earth will be converted into a huge brain, which in fact it is, all things being particles of a real and rhythmic whole. We shall be able to communicate with one another instantly, irrespective of distance. Not only this, but through television and telephony we shall see and hear one another as perfectly as though we were face to face, despite intervening distances of thousands of miles; and the instruments through which we shall be able to do his will be amazingly simple compared with our present telephone. A man will be able to carry one in his vest pocket.”

#2 WiFi

Of course we all knew how obsessed Tesla was with wireless technology, so it would follow that he could imagine how WiFi and wireless devices would function.

“Present wireless receiving apparatus will be scrapped for much simpler machines; static and all forms of interference will be eliminated, so that innumerable transmitters and receivers may be operated without interference. It is more than probable that the household’s daily newspaper will be printed ‘wirelessly’ in the home during the night. Domestic management—the problems of heat, light and household mechanics—will be freed from all labor through beneficent wireless power.”

#3 Autopilot and Autonomous Cars

Who would have thought that Tesla would predict this as well? Just after a little over a hundred years and this prediction has been made into a reality by another awesome innovator named Elon Musk–who named his company after the late inventor.

“As early as 1898, I proposed to representatives of a large manufacturing concern the construction and public exhibition of an automobile carriage which, left to itself, would perform a great variety of operations involving something akin to judgement”.

#4 Remote-controlled devices/ Drones

In 1898, Tesla demonstrated a remote controlled boat at an Electrical Exhibition at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The boat was antennae-equipped and is 4 feet long. It went around a small pool of water and many perceived this as something magical back then. Many military minds saw the potential of this invention to be applied to torpedos. Today, remote-controlled devices have numerous uses. We can see it all over the household, in military weaponry, and even in toys and entertainment.

#5 Women in Power

This may not be a technological invention, but is something notably important to mention especially in our world today. Tesla envisioned that there would be a time when women would hold jobs that are traditionally done by men, and would become “superior” to them.

“This struggle of the human female toward sex equality will end in a new sex order, with the female as superior.”
