1. Jonathan James

He was 16 back then when he was charged with hacking into the computer systems of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. By installing a backdoor into the DTRA server, he was able to gain access to numerous usernames and passwords. He also hacked NASA systems and stole softwares that controlled essential life sustaining equipment.
2. Kevin ‘Dark Dante’ Poulsen

Kevin Poulsen, aka Dark Dante was the first American who was banned from using the internet and computers for 3 years after being released from jail. His most notorious act was when he hacked the telephone lines of L.A. radio network so he could be the 102nd caller and win a new Porsche.

He has managed to hack into different high-profile systems such as Yahoo, Microsoft, The New York Times and others. When he was arrested for breaking into their systems, he claimed that he only did these companies a favur by highlighting the loopholes in their systems.

Now, he runs a security firm named Mitnick Security Consulting LLC. This firm helps test a company’s security strengths, weaknesses, and potential loopholes. Kevin Mitnick is also the Chief Hacking Officer of KnowBe4, a security awareness training company. He is an active advisory board member at Zimperium, a firm which develops mobile intrusion prevention systems.
