This Systems Engineer Quit His Job and Travels The World With His Awesome Van
For millenials, the travel bug has bitten most of us already. We’ve often dreamt of saving enough money to travel the world, see the most amazing sunsets and sunrises and take the nicest pictures to brag them on Instagram. Traveling the world is a dream for most of us but to this engineer, he just made it his reality.
Mike Hudson used to be a systems engineer until he quit his job and decided to live a life on the road living in a LDV Convoy that he renovated. As soon as he resigned from his job, he sold his house and gave away the worldly possessions he had. He immediately purchased the LDV Convoy and renovated it at a total cost of £5,000. With the help of his friends, Hudson was able to finish renovating his van after five months.

He started traveling back in March 2014 with a total savings of £4,500. In order to save money, he resorted to engaging in different activities to survive. He said, “I do many little things to help this go as far as it can—volunteering, dumpster diving, busking, sharing fuel with other travellers.”
He adds, “I don’t think there’s a right or wrong thing for all of us, we all have different requirements. Maybe though as a society we are all a bit addicted to safety. I’ve learnt how to be in the moment a lot more, because that’s what matters and that’s where amazing things happen,”
Hudson also earns from his blog, Vandog Traveller. Check out the amazing pictures he posted on his blog. You might get green with envy!
