He produced a prototype of his electric car that is an electric mini-sedan that became the company’s flagship product. Called the Genius EV, Lagangan’s masterpiece features 10-kilowatt, 72-volt brushless DC motor.  It is powered by 6 12-volt, 120-ampere hour Motolite batteries that can run at a top speed of 75 kph with a 60 to 70 kilometer range under a 4 to 5 hours charge. Five people can enjoy this Filipino-made electric vehicle for about $9,600.

Lagangan is more than just selling the car for profit. He plans to offer his electric car to local government units (LGUs) and other government agencies, corporate clients, taxi operators and individuals. He said, “It can be used as a small electric taxi for Metro Manila, as a patrol car for the barangays, as a service vehicle for LGUs, government agencies and big companies and as a delivery car for logistics companies with the rear portion modified as an enclosed van. Even individuals who wish to save on fuel and help reduce pollution in the city will find the Genius EV the perfect solution.”
