This 57-Storey Building Was Built In Just 19 Days!

This Chinese company was able to build a 57-storey building in just 19 days. Guess how many floors were they able to achieve in building per day: three!

While some construction companies take years to finish building skyscrapers, this Chinese company was able to build a 57-storey building in just 19 days. Back in 2015, the Wu Qiang company built the Mini Sky City project, which is 200-meter skyscraper in the city of Changsha. Guess how many floors were they able to achieve in building per day: three!

Clearly they were able to achieve things at a fast rate.

The skyscraper allotted space which will be good for 4,000 people with 800 apartments. The company was able to achieve this because the components used for building were already 90% available in factories. These components were then brought to the site using very huge trucks. The total construction area was 180,000 square meters with 3.6km of pedestrian streets.

The initial plans were revealed that the company was supposed to build 97 stories. The project began at 2014 but they had to stop the construction and change plans because a nearby airport would have been affected. The height of the building was then changed, that’s why 97 stories were changed to 57. When construction continued on February 1st, the company was able to finish it on the 16th.

In case you did the math and wondered how they were able to build it in 19 days, here’s the math: The company started building it for 7 days back in 2014. It already created 20 stories after 7 days. Then the company resumed and finished it from February 1 to 16. “Due to the wet weather, the project was suspended for four days during February 1st to 16th. So the total building time was 19 days.”

Xiao Changgen, the Vice General Manager of the company (Broad Group) – the company in-charge of the local pre-fabricated building parts for the project, said that if the company followed the traditional construction methods in building, it would have taken them two years to complete it.

Given the rate of building three floors per day with a team of 1,200 people working, this company behind the project was confident to say that the building is earthquake proof and can withstand 9M. They also claimed that the air inside the building  was cleaner than the air outside. The building would have also been easy to dismantle.

Do you know any company that works as fast as this company?
