Nowadays, people want to spend less on their own homes. They avoid constructing big houses because they no longer see the need to impress other people and having smaller homes are more practical these days. With so many space issues to deal with in cities, people are satisfied with small houses as long as these constructions have everything they need.

Such is the purpose of Kokoon. It’s a small wooden house that is three stories high. The amazing thing about this house is that people can easily put it up in just one day!

It’s a project created by students from the Aalto University School of Arts Design and Architecture’s Wood Program. They wanted Kokoon to be a easily built and portable. Since most of the parts of the house are built offsite, people can just assemble it as fast as they can onsite. And unlike some houses where one needs to spend more than a hundred thousand dollars for their homes, the Kokoon is estimated to cost only around $15,000.

The prototype was originally unveiled in Otaniemi, Finland but is now located at the Museum of Finnish Architecture.
