This iPhone Case Doubles as an Android Device

Yup. You get both Android and iOS in just one hand if you buy this case!

It’s still quite impossible for now to merge the best qualities of both operating systems Android and iOS in just one smartphone. But now, one project at Kickstarter by ESTI Inc. is looking for funds to have the closest we can get to that – by developing a smartphone case in the form of an Android phone designed to fit an iPhone.

Called the Eye, it gives you two smartphones in just one grip. Just to be clear, this only gets two smartphones in back to back, and not getting an iPhone to run on Android. That’s not happening, or at least not yet.

Upon putting on the Eye, one side of the smartphone now is an iPhone, and the other side, which is a standalone smartphone, is an Android device. But the Eye shares the speaker, microphone, and cameras of Apple’s device.

Eye has two SIM card slots, an expandable memory for microSD cards up to 256 GB, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR blaster. It also contains its own separate battery, able to hold 2,800 mAh of power and can be charged wirelessly, and an NFC chip. Its screen is a 5-inch AMOLED.

It could fit every smartphone in the new generation of iPhones, including 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, an 7 Plus. The next iPhone will be supported a month after its launch.

For $189 as a retail price for each Eye, many are skeptical about the internal specs of this smartphone and/or case. But one can back the project for an early-bird price of $95 (without 4G) or $129 (with 4G), with shipment in August or September later this year.
