Hillarious Murphy’s Laws in Engineering

This is a law that involves no math at all.

We’re positive that these are the most ironic, hilarious and funniest Murphy’s laws that engineers experienced.

This law is not at all an engineering principle or even a scientific one, but Murphy’s Law applies so well with engineers. The Murphy’s Law is generally expressed as “If anything can go wrong, it will.” A popular adage, it is originally “If there are two or more ways to do something, and one of those ways can result in a catastrophe, then someone will do it.”

It got its name from an engineer from the US Air Force named Edward A. Murphy Jr., who, in 1947, was doing a rocket-sled experiment, only to find out that all 16 accelerator instruments were installed wrongly. It was Murphy who observed it, thus the name.

Many versions of Murphy’s Laws have been written in different concepts and fields and engineering, of course, also have its own laws.  These are unfortunate incidents where the wrong just favors us in the most unexpected circumstances.

Law of Mechanical Repair

“After your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch and you’ll have to pee.”

Law of Gravity

“Any tool, nut, bolt, screw, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible corner.”

Law of Variation

“If you change lines (supermarket or traffic lanes), the one you were in will always move faster than the one you are in now.”

Law of the Result

“When you try to prove to some that a machine won’t work, it will.”

It’s funny how all of these are true, and engineers must be laughing their asses off right now. Do you know any other Murphy’s Laws that apply to engineers?
