  2. Traditional Bank Financing. For the most part, the process of obtaining a fix and flip loan from a traditional lending institution is just like obtaining a loan for your primary residence. However, that is not to say that the process is simple because it’s not. You will need good credit and a large downpayment in order to qualify.  Also, if you don’t have a history of flipping homes, the bank may be hesitant to lend you money.
  3. Hard Money Loans. These types of loans are short-term loans designed to be repaid within a year or less. Hard money loans are great options for investors who don’t have good credit or who may have been turned down for a loan with a traditional lending institution.
  4. Line of Credit or Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC). If you own your primary residence or another home, you may have built a significant amount of equity in those properties. If that’s the case, you can tap into that equity and use the funds to invest in your new fix and flip project.
