Water bottles are used primarily to contain the water inside it. But what if they also purify and test the water it holds? This is a smart bottle that can remove contaminants.

This is exactly what Ecomo Inc. has successfully developed. Its CEO, Eric Li, explained that inside the Ecomo Bottle, there is a 3-in-1 filtration system – containing activated carbon fiber, ion exchange fiber, and nano-fiber membrane – to ensure the water we drink is potable. It reduces contaminants like pesticides, petroleum products, bacteria, and most heavy metals by twisting the base of the bottle. It also uses a smart technology that reminds the user to replace the filter when needed.

Apart from its filter feature is the ability of the Ecomo Bottle to test water safety levels. By simple shaking the bottle, it analyzes the water inside it from Total Organic Carbon (TOC), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Turbidity and Water Temperature in just 3 seconds. The status of the water quality can be viewed easily on the bottle’s LED screen or through an accompanying app.

Having a water quality test is crucial nowadays, after a 2016 study from Harvard University revealed that unsafe levels of toxic chemicals have been found in drinking water for 6 million Americans across 33 states. The Ecomo Bottle is perhaps the smart water bottle this world needs.
