The fact is that engineers and managers tend to have a pretty brought relationship. The majority of engineers find managers to be a bother. They would rather concentrate on their work such as coding instead of coordinating with managers and bosses. When Google was still in its infancy, its founders tried using a flat approach by eliminating all managerial posts. Of course, that experiment existed only for a few months. After all, managers do have an important role to play in an organization’s setup by improving efficiency.

Now Google is known for hiring the best. However, instead of choosing guys based on their marks, they go for cognitive abilities and skills. Google gives a lot of freedom and leeway inside its organizations. It ensures that managers and engineers are able to respect the skill set of the other side. Nonetheless, the question remains as to how to get these guys to value management so as to ensure efficiency.
