So You Wanna Be In TV?: Creating Opportunities For Disadvantaged Young People

In our cover story, get to know the strong woman behind So You Wanna Be In TV?, a not-for-profit, grassroots social enterprise - Rioch Edwards-Brown.

GineersNow: Social Impact Leaders is a platform for purpose-driven entrepreneurs, individuals and business organizations to showcase their projects, missions and impacts. You do not need to be an engineer or a scientist to be included in this magazine.  What we are looking for is the drive, passion and ambition of those people who are solving the most complex problems of humanity. If you and your organization are tackling the world’s challenging problems like (not limited to) poverty, education, water irrigation, rural electrification, diversity & inclusion, women empowerment, climate change, malaria or even cancer, this is your magazine.

For the month of December, let’s celebrate the yuletide season with inspiring stories from different people all over the globe.

In our cover story, get to know the strong woman behind So You Wanna Be In TV?, a disruptive, not-for-profit, grassroots social enterprise – Rioch Edwards-Brown. She shares why she wanted to take the opportunity to make a difference and give something back to her community. With her background as a former TV researcher, she wanted to close the gap between the TV industry and disadvantaged young people who wanted to be part of it. Thus, she created a partnership and started this London-based social enterprise. Learn more about her story, her journey on starting So You Wanna Be In TV?, the challenges she and her team had to go through and why it’s important that more people become aware of their program.
