During the Waterlinks exhibition in Manila, Metro Pacific Water one of the largest water supplier and investor in the Philippines talks to GineersNow TV about their latest water technologies, wastewater innovations and the IWA Efficient 2019 Conference.
Metro Pacific Water (MPW) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. Yang Villa is the Senior Manager for Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and Lead for Industry Innovation at Metro Pacific Water (MPW). With almost a decade of corporate practice, Yang previously worked with MPW’s affiliate companies Maynilad and Philippine Hydro. In 2017, he co-founded the Philippine Young Water Professionals (PYWP) under the International Water Association’s Emerging Water Leaders program. Yang is a prolific advocate for youth leadership: he teaches at the Academy for Political Management, advises student organizations, and mentors various youth-led initiatives. Recently, Yang was named by the DENR-EMB GREENducation Philippines as one of “30 under 30” young environmental champions for his work in mainstreaming water issues through multi-stakeholder collaborations. Yang completed his bachelor degree in economics from the University of the Philippines Diliman, where he also worked as a junior researcher at the Institute for Development and Econometric Analysis.
