Students Invented Shoes That Can Produce Electricity While Walking

This is a great engineering student project: Shoes that can produce electricity.

It’s a simple physics of concept of converting energy to another – after all, it’s neither created nor destroyed. Vietnamese engineering students from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology have thought of using kinetic energy from walking or running into electricity.

What they did is integrate piezoelectric elements into the sole of the shoes that stores energy in the battery. Voila. You can now walk with the Greencross Kinetic Energy Shoes on, you’re already gathering electricity for later use.
