Mothers.
For every engineering student, there’s a mother committed into making her child’s dream come true. Even before we took our first baby steps, our mothers have always been there to support us and provide us with everything we need. Later on, they’ve seen us suffer from raging hormones as we went through the awkward stage of our lives called puberty. But as soon as we decided that we wanted to pursue engineering, our mothers have done their best to give us the opportunities to make that dream come true.

Obtaining an engineering degree and preparing for licensure exams are hard enough as they are but without our mothers giving us all the support we need, life gets harder for us. Now that we’re engineers, we should always be reminded that the person we owe our success to is probably waiting for one call from us. So this is me reminding you to call your mom today!

Our mothers have been there for us on the day we found out we got accepted to the engineering degrees we’ve always wanted to be in. They’ve cried with us when we found out our grade never made it and we had to take that tough subject again (and again). They worked extra hours just to give us the financial support we need to get our thesis projects done. Most importantly, they were there to witness us get the diplomas we worked so hard for (with tears of joy as they watch us march during graduation day).

So here’s a big thank you to all the mothers of all engineers out there! You’ve been a huge part of our journey into becoming who we are now. All your hard work paid off and you beam with pride as you watch us build giant infrastructures, process materials human kind can’t live without and make a difference in this big world. Without you, we are nothing. So, thank you to all the mothers out there. You have made all of our engineering dreams possible with your love, dedication and wisdom.
