And recently, Croatian carmaker Rimac Automobili might have snatched the fastest electric car trophy from Tesla Motors.
World’s Fastest Electric Car (Source: Tumblr)Although not yet official, the Concept One of Rimac Automobili reports that it runs a top speed of 220 mph with an acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 2.6 seconds, beating the former record holder Tesla Roadster which has hit the world record at a top speed of 125 mph and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds.

Apart from that is the shocking price tag of about $1.2 million, a luxury for car owners alike. It is 10 times more costly than a Tesla which is at $120,000, a relatively cheaper tag but still expensive. No question to that as Concept One is solely built Rimac, and has undergone many iterations and uses the R-AWTV system developed in concert with Pikes Peak legend Nobuhiko Tajima also known as “Monster.”However, there are still unverified controversy as to the Concept One as the fastest electric car in the world, with the existence of Venturi Buckeye Bullet 3, also called as the Cedar Rocket, is said to run at a maximum speed of 372 mph. This is built by Ohio State University engineers.
