About The Leader

Umesh Kalyani is the Director, Projects Design and Implementation for the Cummins Africa Middle East (AME) region. He has a rich experience of more than 24 years in the industry, the last 17 of which have been with Cummins. In his previous role, Umesh led the Power Generation Segments team for the AME region that was responsible for growing key market segments such as Gas, Telecom, Data Center, and new focus areas such as mining, defense and renewables.

Before joining the AME region, Umesh was responsible for the growth of projects sales business as the leader of Power Systems (HHP) Sales and Marketing in India. In addition, Umesh also led sales and service for the rental business in India. Prior to joining Cummins, Umesh worked for Larsen and Toubro, Wartsila and Cummins Wartsila in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction industry.

Umesh is an Electrical Engineer and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management from Symbiosis Pune and a Graduate Diploma in Materials Management from IIMM Bangalore. He is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and Six Sigma Sponsor.
