While most of us struggle to make end meets, there’s a businessman in Dubai who likes to spend his money on numbers. Yes, you heard that right!

Indian businessman (who is also a Dubai expat) Balwinder Sahani has the most expensive mobile number ever! For a price of AED 4.5 million, he now owns the number +971 58 888 8888. He purchased the number during an auction at the Grand Hyatt Dubai Convention Centre.

Here’s the catch. He may never get to use the number!

He said, “I can never use this number. I got it in my hands at 8.30pm today and till now, within just 2 hours, I’ve received 1,000 calls.”

Like anyone else who heard about this story, you’re wondering why he bought it. Simple! He bought it for charity. He shared, “I only wanted this number so it’s the only one I bought. I never have limits when I want something, especially when it is for charity.”

This isn’t his first time to spend millions on a number though. You’ve probably heard of the news when someone spent AED33 Million on a license plate last year. Yes, that was also Sahani! The D5 license plate can now be seen on his Rolls-Royce car. He also spent an O9 license plate for AED25 million. He said that he has more of these and considers himself a collector. He shared, “I have collected 10 number plates so far and I am looking forward to having more. It’s a passion.”
