The Bahrain International Air Show will be held starting this January 21st, and India’s Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas, reached Sakhir Air Base last week to participate in the show, This will be the first ever appearance of Tejas at a foreign air show, and is surely to be compared to Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder fighter which was produced with Chinese help.

The LCA TEJAS
This Indian Aircraft is a single-seat, single engine, lightweight, high agility supersonic fighter aircraft. The LCA Tejas can speed up to Mach 1.4 and can manage to carry assorted weapons and dropping tanks up to four tons. This aircraft is equipped with the latest avionics and digital flight control systems. Presently, it is powered by American General Electric Engine GEF404. It is designed with a vertical fin with no tail-planes or fore-planes and also has delta wing configuration.
The JF-17 Thunder
The JF Thunder’s airframe is a semi-single shell structure and its airframe is designed to live up to 4,000 flight hours. That’s around 25 years. This aircraft uses a composite flight control system (FCS), which comprises of conventional controls with stability augmentation in the yaw and roll axis and also a digital fly-by-wire (FBW) system in the pitch axis. This air craft is powered by a single Russian Klimov RD-93 turbo fan engine. It can be armed with 3620 kg (8000 lb) of air-to-air and air-to-ground ordnance.
