There was a point in my life–around a month or two after my 25th birthday–when I suddenly felt that there was something lacking in me. Everything seemed to be upside down. My job suddenly became boring to me, and I no longer found it exciting. Even going out with my friends became a chore. There was something wrong, and it was depressing.

I know many of you–who are at around my age bracket–feel the same way, and we all know what I’m talking about. I was stuck in a Quarter-life crisis.
It’s the feeling when you feel you’re not reaching your full potential and feel that you’re falling behind. It’s a hellish feeling and we want to end this feeling as soon as possible. So here are some ways to get through this crisis once and for all.
Stop Comparing yourself!

Exactly. Did it ever occur to you that constantly comparing yourself to other people is might what had started this crisis in you? Everyone has his/her own journey in life, and timing. Don’t compare the beginning of your journey with the middle of someone else’s. You have your own journey, as they have theirs.
Stop comparing.
Talk about it

Talk to your family, or a trusted friend and let it all out. You’ll be amazed on how better you’ll feel after. We all know how heavy it is to be keeping our depression to ourselves. Others take it to Facebook, but I say share it with someone you trust over a cup of coffee.
Stop Social Media Stalking

Let’s admit it, Facebook is a glimmering advertisement of how much other people’s lives are seemingly SOOO much better than yours. Stop stalking people and–go back to number one–STOP comparing yourself. Social media may already be part of our daily lives, but don’t let it eat you up.
Stop those should’s

I should have a car by now. I should have $(insert amount here) in my bank account by now. I should be married by now.
Stop this. Everyone knows how hard it is to live up to expectations. Stop beating yourself up for accomplishments you should have already achieved. Let yourself be, take everything one step at a time, celebrate small victories, and you’re sure to achieve your goals bit by bit. Remember, it’s not a race.
Invest in yourself
