Before, Skype or Slack users cannot interconnect conversations to these different applications. It’s either you or the other person has to make a skype account in order to be in the same skype call.
Now, without anyone to change services, skype and slack teams can easily interact using a linking feature to channel a Slack team to a skype conversation. The feature was announced on a Sameroom blog and on the skype blog website.
Just simply visit the Skype integration for Slack Product page and click on Add to Slack button to complete the set-up. Confirm the team you want to integrate with and select Authorize or Change Teams to switch.
After which, you can now start using Skype with Slack. Just type in any channel to start a free group call.
Anyone in the team can join the call whether they have Skype account or not. Signing in as a guest, with a Microsoft account or Skype name will allow them join the call.
